A man is shown three objects and asked if he knows what to do with them. The first is a glass of beer, which he drinks greedily. The second is a handkerchief, which he sneezes into. The third is a bowl of disinfectant. The man lifts the disinfectant to his mouth to drink, before the narrator stops him. The narrator takes the handkerchief from the man's pocket and places it in the disinfectant, explaining that this kills the germs and stops the spread of infection. Getting the point, the man empties his pockets of dirty handkerchiefs and places each in the bowl, while the narrator reminds him, 'Don't spread germs'.
