Working from their lair in King's Cross, Nick and Paul predict, witness and photograph fatal accidents in London. Today is the culmination of a pattern of accident and death. Jen, an American woman, makes an unscheduled stopover in London and takes a cab from Heathrow to central London, where she finds a café.

When Nick and Paul enter the café, Paul tells Nick that Jen is 'the one', which Nick takes to mean the next casualty. However, a drunken woman sits opposite Jen, and when she leaves she trips over a milk bottle and dies. Paul surreptitiously takes a photo of Jen, and Nick leaves behind a notebook, which the proprietor hands to Jen.

Jen reads Nick's notebook, which mentions the Bank of England; when she arrives there, she sees them watching a businessman. She tries to distract him from getting on a bus, but fails. Meanwhile, another man, answering his mobile phone, falls down a manhole.

Looking at Nick's map, Jen discovers that the centre of their operations is King's Cross. Outside the railway station, she is pestered by an aggressive young man and flees along a walkway above the goods yard. Nick decides Jen must be eliminated as an erratic element, but Paul declares that she's always been part of the pattern and that he thinks he's in love.

Paul and Nick go to the goods yard to witness the final death. At the top of a flight of stairs, Paul is surprised by Jen, causing him to drop his pocket watch. It falls, killing Nick. Paul takes a picture of his body as Jen looks up to see a plane flying overhead.
