Crowds of people gather outside two-storey terraced houses in a curve of the road. The procession begins, led by men in straw boaters and followed by carriages and costumed people on horseback, including a Chinaman and a cowboy. A marching band is followed by the fire brigade. Another band is followed by a dancing troupe of blacked-up characters, historical figures and Vikings.

A marching band bearing the sign '7&8 Erecting Shop' is followed by dancing minstrels in striped suits. An Arab army is followed by a band dressed as clowns, a fencing display, fifteen men on stilts waving flags, a Golliwog parade and dance, and a Morris dancing display.

The St John Ambulance Brigade leads costumed characters including Indians, John Bull and Russians. Blacked-up dancers perform a cake walk. Dancing bears follow with their handlers. Dutch dancers are followed by a band dressed as tramps, followed by a keep-fit demonstration. Finally, a banner for the Suffragette movement is held aloft by two women, and followed by a small female crowd.
