On the deck of a boat we see a life belt with the legend 'Birkenhead Ferries'. The camera pans up to show the Prince and his entourage on the deck of the Birkenhead Ferry. He is wearing very smart western clothes. He and his aides are wearing bowlers while the British dignitaries are all in top hats. Onshore, the Prince leads the party, accompanied by two policemen, along an iron walkway - the Prince and members of party doff their hats to the camera as they pass.
