Synopsis

Amateur footage shot around Pier Head and Dale Street, featuring views of the Liver Building, St Nicholas's Church, Titanic Memorial, Tower Building, Exchange Flags, Nelson memorial, Royal Insurance Building, Tempest Hey. Also features footage of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral under construction. The remainder of film focuses on the city centre around the area of St John's Market (now demolished) near Queen Square and St George's Place. The filmmaker scans the facades of the buildings, recording street names, landmarks and street scenes in locations such as Rose Street, Market Street, Upper Dawson Street, Williamson Square, St John's Market, Lime Street Station, and Great Charlotte Street. Includes footage of the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool Playhouse, Stork Hotel and the Union Cold Storage building overlooking Williamson Square.
