Made for US television, this is a much shortened and simplified version of Lotte Reiniger's first international success - and only feature-length film - The Adventures of Prince Achmed (Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed, Germany, 1923-26), from which it re-uses some of the footage. Philip Kemp *This film is included in the BFI DVD compilation Lotte Reiniger: The Fairy Tale Films.
