This humorous film touches lightly on problematic female attitudes towards the body. The intimate, self-mocking confessional tone was an element of women's animation that has spread to mainstream animation. Along with Sarah Kennedy, who now has a career in comedy stand-up and sit-com, Candy Guard represented a strand of animation based on witty and sophisticated script-writing - her films would work as radio pieces. The visuals are very simple line drawing with some areas of colour.
Candy Guard went on to make Pond Life (1996-2000), a successful animated series for Channel 4.
