Cliff Climbing - The Egg Harvest of Flamborough Head (1908)

Synopsis

Warning: screenonline full synopses contain 'spoilers' which give away key plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know the ending!

Held on a rope by his companions, a man abseils down a cliff, collecting sea-birds' eggs as he descends. He is then hauled back up the cliff, collecting more eggs on the way, in a series of bounces to propel himself away from the overhanging cliff face. On the cliff top, the eggs are sorted into baskets. From his jacket pockets, the climber produces two seabirds, a guillemot and a puffin, which he presents to the camera.
