The Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force, General Sir Edmund Allenby, talks to commanders of various Allied detachments and their attachés prior to his ceremonial entry into the Holy City of Jerusalem.

Allenby marches at the head of a long column of officers and men, whose numbers include T.E. Lawrence. He then reads a proclamation to a crowded square and attends a reception of religious and civic dignitaries.

After leaving the Holy City, he mounts his horse outside Jaffa Gate and rides away from it with his party. After the ceremony, the streets are thronged with people.
