"CANINE HEROES. Dogs at Cruft's Dog Show who have been awarded silver shields for saving life. 'Lassie' who rescued sailors from H.M.S. Formidable".

Flash main title. Medium long shot of the interior of Cruft's show hall [it is difficult to distinguish details as the shot is very 'foggy']. Slow pan of dog pens; three terriers in separate pens. A terrier in begging position on a table; a cloth backdrop behind it. There is an oblong box on the table containing food. The dog's handler (unseen) offers the dog a titbit which it takes and then resumes its begging position. Medium shot of a bull terrier on a lead - the handler is not in shot. A collie with its head and front paws through a lifebelt. The dog looks about and then steps back through the lifebelt. A nurse with a red cross on her apron holding the leads of two greyhounds. The greyhounds wear coats and a tag with a cross.

Note: As the collie is shown going through a lifebelt it is assumed that this is 'Lassie' who helped rescue the sailors from the battleship which was sunk by a German submarine 1.1.1915.
