This Mining Review item was inspired by the London Chamber of Commerce's annual examination of leading secretaries all over Britain. The top scorer was Nancy Hall, who works for the National Coal Board's Mining Research Establishment at Isleworth, south-west London. Her boss is Dr L.C.Tyte, director of the facility since its inception. He was away from the office when the film was made, so it's entirely appropriate that Ms Hall deputises for him in the interview as well as taking on numerous other tasks in his absence. This is, after all, her job. Michael Brooke
