Pimple comedies frequently used traditional playground gags to drive the
action. The sign on the back of an unwitting victim is a classic and is used
here to good effect. Although incomplete, this is one of the more
straightforwardly comprehensible Pimple films. It is interesting to note that
outside the music hall in the film is a poster advertising the Cricks film 'A
Sporting Chance'. Cricks was the company for which Fred Evans worked before
setting up Folly films and with whom he was supposed to have fallen out.
