Richardson, Peter (1953-)

Actor, Writer, Director

Main image of Richardson, Peter (1953-)

Now better known as a TV director, on, for example, Eddie Izzard: Glorious (1997), Peter Richardson directed (and acted in) several off-centre comedies - The Supergrass (1985), Eat the Rich (1987), The Pope Must Die (1991) - which failed to find audiences.

As an actor, he played Al Pacino playing Arthur Scargill in The Strike (1988) and Bart Columbus in Carry On Columbus (d. Gerald Thomas, 1992), and on TV he directed and wrote the bizarre Stella Street (BBC, 1997). His is perhaps a quirkish talent that will flower with the right material.
