A youthful tearaway - from Italia Conti School at 11, to teenage punkdom in Liverpool - who has become one of the smart names of British cinema without ever actually being in a good/popular film. After some stage experience in Manchester, she married (1988-97) Gary Kemp, actor and Spandau Ballet frontman, and starred with him in The Krays (d. Peter Medak, 1990). In 1994, she co-starred with Jude Law in the urban grunge thriller, Shopping (d. Paul Anderson), and they married in 1997. Along with Sean Pertwee, Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller, they founded the production company Natural Nylon. Frost and some of these people have been in some dreadful films, like Love, Honour and Obey (d. Ray Burdis, Dominic Anciano, 2000). She is very pretty and engaging even in trash like that; perhaps Natural Nylon will become more discriminating. Brian McFarlane, Encyclopedia of British Film
