When not playing Shakespeare with the RSC (she was a fine Beatrice in 1984) or appearing on quality TV (Twelfth Night, BBC, 1980), Sinéad Cusack (born in Dalkey, Ireland, on 18 February 1948) has made doggedly uncommercial forays into cinema, since 1969 (Alfred the Great, d.
