Not as well known as his father, Nelson Keys, or his brother John Paddy Carstairs, Anthony Nelson Keys was still a prominent figure in British film production of the '50s and '60s, closely associated with Hammer, where he had earlier been an associate producer. After service in the Army Film & Photographic Unit, 1940-1946, Keys became an assistant director, production manager and associate producer. As a production manager, he worked on Contraband (d. Michael Powell, 1940), Snowbound (d. David MacDonald, 1948), Bad Lord Byron (d. MacDonald, 1949), and Women of Twilight (d. Gordon Parry, 1952), etc. He retired to care for his ailing wife.
