Cambridge-educated Duncan Kenworthy, along with Richard Curtis and Andrew Macdonald, formed DNA Films in 1997. He had TV experience on Sesame Street in the US, producing The Muppet Show (1976-81) and The Storyteller series (1988-91), in association with Jim Henson. In 1994 he produced the phenomenally successful (BAFTA-winning, Oscar-nominated) Four Weddings and a Funeral (d. Mike Newell), repeating the pattern with Notting Hill (UK/US, d. Roger Michell, 1999). He was awarded an OBE in 1999. Brian McFarlane, Encyclopedia of British Film
