Main image of Goehr, Walter (1903-1960)

A former pupil of Arnold Schönberg, Walter Goehr went to Britain in 1933, working initially as a conductor for Columbia and HMV, later also in films, where he often collaborated with Allan Gray.

Goehr composed several film scores, most notably for David Lean's Great Expectations (1946).
