Episode 11, 'Let's Get It On', tx. 3/6/1996

The relationship between Milly and Egg is going through a difficult patch. Egg has given up his job to become a writer and is relying on Milly for financial support; Milly is considering sleeping with her boss, O'Donnell; Egg's dad, Jerry, is living in the house after being thrown out by his wife and, to make things worse, Egg has just discovered that Jerry has been sleeping with Anna.

Jerry, however, has a new lease of life and is aching for new experience. He persuades Anna to take him to a rave and help him acquire some Ecstasy. The drug dealer they find is a suicidal depressive called Lanky Roy, who claims to have sold them some "pure MDMA". Jerry and Anna get high and dance the night away in a club, where they meet Anna's housemate Warren. Warren tells them about the turbulent time he is having after revealing his homosexuality to his older brother Dale, who refuses to accept it.

The next day Anna has a new client to defend - it turns out to be Lanky Roy who is in court on a drug dealing charge. She breaks down when faced with this no-win situation but goes through with the case when Miles - another lawyer housemate, with whom she has a complex relationship - persuades her to go through with it.

Meanwhile, Milly and Egg visit a therapist to talk through their troubles. Milly admits to sexual fantasies about O'Donnell while Egg admits to taking a shine to Anthea Turner. Eventually, however, this confrontation does lead somewhere and they start to work through their problems.

Jerry finds a publisher for the novel that he has been working on and secures a large advance. Anna insists on a party to celebrate. Milly and Egg get drunk and have sex and also confirm a jealous Miles' suspicions about Jerry and Anna. Warren confronts his brother, Dale, after getting very drunk but still does not manage to convince him to overcome his prejudices. Anna and Miles exchange a few harsh words before retiring together to his room to alleviate months of sexual tension. Jerry, for whom this party was organised, finds himself alone and a little disgruntled.
